Four of the six abducted youth have been found even as the whereabouts of cartoonist Gideon Kibet (Kibet Bull) remains unknown.
Billy Mwangi, Peter Muteti, Bernad Kavuli and Rony Kiplangat were released on Monday, January 6, 2025.
Mwangi and Muteti had met their families physically while the others reached out to them.
Mwangi, is currently at their Majengo home, Embu town with his parents.
It is reported that Mwangi has been taken to hospital for a checkup.
“Thank God Larry. The boy is back physically intact,” his dad Gerald Mwangi said.
Similarly, Peter Muteti who was abducted on December 21 at his apartment outside Nairobi has been released.
Muteti was also released on the morning of Monday, January 6.
His family has confirmed that they are currently with him although he is quite disoriented and not able to talk and give interviews.
“Peter has been released. He is currently with family. He is quite disoriented and not able to talk and give interviews at the moment,” the family said.
Journalist Hanifa Farsafi has confirmed the release of social media user Bernad Kavuli.
Kavuli was found in Kitale while Rony Kiplangat was found in Machakos County.
The three are among the six people who were recently abducted.
Gideon Kibet (Kibet Bull) and Steve Kavingo are yet to be found.
