Inclusive National Justice, Economic and Civic Transformation (INJECT) party leader Morara Kebaso has been arrested again.
His lawyer Pareno Solonka has revealed that officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) stormed his office and took him into custody.
Additionally, he stated that he was later taken to Langata police station.
However, the police have not yet stated the reason for the arrest.
“The vehicle has gone to Langata Police Station. Morara is at Langata Police Station. Morara has just been bundled into this Subaru by DCI officials. We don’t know where he is being taken or the reasons for being taken.”
Speaking moments after being taken into custody, Morara confirmed his arrest, indicating that he was bundled up over the events of the Bomas of Kenya.
In disbelief, the activist stated that the ordeal did not make sense, asking Kenyans to stand with him in his time of need.
“I have been arrested over what happened at Bomas. Can you imagine? Can you imagine? Does it even make sense? What is this now? Please don’t abandon me in my hour of need.” stated Morara through his X account.
Speaking during a Spice FM show, Kebaso said that the attack launched on him at Bomas was pre-planned explaining that there were clear signs that a trap had been laid for him.
He showed up for a public participation forum for an impeachment motion against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
“There were enough red flags that I did not see. I had announced my position on my TikTok and Twitter that we impeach both the President and Deputy President and having done that there were people who were uncomfortable with that.”
