An arrest warrant was issued Friday in New Mexico for Emmy Award-winning actor and director Timothy Busfield on a child sex abuse charge.
According to a criminal complaint filed by an Albuquerque police investigator, a child reported that Busfield touched him inappropriately multiple times on the set of the TV series “The Cleaning Lady,” which Busfield both directed and appeared in.
The alleged abuse occurred when the child was 7 and 8 years old, between November 2022 and spring 2024.
The complaint states the child, identified only by his initials, was diagnosed with PTSD and anxiety following the alleged incidents.
A social worker documented the boy’s nightmares about Busfield and his fear of reporting the abuse because Busfield was the director.
The signed warrant specifies two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor. Busfield’s attorney and agent did not immediately respond to requests for comment late Friday.
