Aden Duale, the Defence Cabinet Secretary, has lashed out at his former party leader, Uhuru Kenyatta over the Jubilee NDC fiasco.
Duale stated in Isiolo on Sunday that the former President’s recent acts were a disgrace not only for Kenya but for Africa as a whole.
“You (Uhuru) have embarrassed us… You have no regard for Kenya. Kenya granted you ten years as president, but you allow yourself to be teargassed… Even neighbouring presidents are shocked by your actions.”
Duale said the former President was solely to blame for the collapse of the Jubilee Party.
Aden Duale was ousted as the Majority leader after his allegiance to the then Deputy William Ruto.
“We did not leave Jubilee but we were chased away,” he claimed.
Uhuru Kenyatta violated a constitutionally mandated political withdrawal by holding a contentious Jubilee Party National Delegate Conference (NDC) of dismissed leaders.
Kenyatta, who is legally required to have retired as a political party leader, will host a struggling axis of the erstwhile ruling party on Monday at Nairobi’s Ngong racecourse.
Kenyatta’s intended site, Bomas of Kenya, was reported to be unavailable due to “scheduled routine maintenance.”
The last-minute site change came amid a persistent bombardment by the party’s legislators, who have subsequently transferred allegiance to President William Ruto.
