AFC Holds Elections For New Officials

The Dan Shikanda-led team has served for three years, and only the chairman will be defending his seat in the polls

Ingwe is set to hold elections today to select a new office for the next three years.

AFC Leopards will go to the polls today to elect new office bearers who will lead the club for the next three years in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL).

The Dan Shikanda-led team has served for three years, and only the chairman will be defending his seat in the polls, which will be held at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani by the Centre for Multiparty Democracy (CMD-Kenya).

Shikanda, who has been chairman since 2019, is the only current officer bearer who will be on the ballot.

Oliver Sikuku, secretary-general, leaves after serving two terms as allowed by the club constitution, and treasurer Maurice Chichi, who was not cleared for the second term, will also leave after one term.

Former club CEO Ronald Namai is vying for chairmanship, and the club legend faces stiff competition.

The two will square off again, as they did in 2019, when Shikanda won with 456 votes and Namai received 72 votes.
