Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa has assured the youths and especially motorcyclists or commonly known as boda boda of her total support once she becomes the next governor of Kilifi County. – By Ramadhan Kambi.
Speaking in Kilifi South, the lawmaker told the locals that she is the best suited to lead the county after the exist of current governor Amason Kingi.
Ms Jumwa, current Deputy Governor Gideon Saburi, former Agriculture Chief Officer Baha Nguma, Assembly Speaker Jimmy Kahindi, ASAL CAS Gideon Mung’aro and businessman Dzombo Mbaru are among those who are eyeing to succeed Governor Kingi after his exit in 2022.
Ms Jumwa wgo was at Banda Ra Salama village in Chonyi for the launch of a Boda Boda Sacco told the residents that change was inevitable in Kilifi and that a woman leadership at the top is what will transform the county as a land of opportunities.
“We must change the lives of our boda boda riders by ensuring that apart from their safety on the roads, we have a good plan for their future including sensitizing them on the importance of saving to enable them economical grow,” she said.
The fiery Malindi MP said her quest to go for the top seat was caused by among other issues, the thought of having a county that will be ready to deal with the issues affecting the common residents of the county and enable them meet their daily demands of life.
She was accompanied by Kilifi South MP Ken Chonga, Juliet Riziki (Kachachawa) and Santa Mwanyule. Both Juliet and Santa are eyeing the County women rep seat.
“I am here to tell you that in the next year General Election, the governor seat belongs to none other than Aisha Jumwa. There are many things in place for youths and especially the boda boda riders. Your future lies in a good leadership,” she said.
With Kilifi expected to see a political fireworks especially on the gubernatorial seat, each and every aspirant has been on the prowl, going from one region to another in consultative meetings with the voters.
