Aisha Jumwa To Increase Working Hours From 7am to 7pm In Huduma Centres

    Cabinet Secretary, Hon. Aisha Jumwa this morning visited the Huduma Kenya Secretariat where she was apprised of the Huduma Kenya Service Delivery Programme. Afterwards, she visited GPO Huduma Centre for an inspection tour.

    During her address, the Cabinet Secretary noted that currently there are 52 Huduma Centres established across the 47 counties at County Headquarters. However, she said that this number of Huduma Centres is not adequate to meet the ever-increasing demand for public services.

    i. Launch Extended Working Hours in 18 Huduma Centres nationally including Nairobi GPO which will offer highly sought services from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm;

    ii. In line with this, she said that the Ministry has already commenced extended working hours on a shift basis for the Government-owned Huduma Contact Centre to operate from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm;

    iii. Undertake 100 Huduma Mashinani outreaches across the country to provide services closer to wananchi;

    iv. Launch the model sub-county Huduma Centre in partnership with National Government Constituency Development Fund in preparation to establish Huduma Centres across various sub-counties;

    v. Launch an improved training program on Huduma Kenya Standards and Customer Service Excellence to capacitate staff with the required skills to serve customers better; and

    vi. As part of the Head of State directive, launch a tree planting program through Huduma Centre Adopt a ‘County-Forest’ with the target to plant 500 million trees in the next 5 years.
