Kilifi gubernatorial candidate and Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa has unveiled her UDA candidates who will battle for various political seats ahead of the August General Election.

She calls the team her dream team which she says it carries the hopes and dreams of the Kilifi people.

Ms Jumwa who is eying for the top county seat seeks to take over from Governor Amason Kingi who is completing his second and final term in office.

Popularly known as ‘Shangazi Wa Taifa’ Ms Jumwa organized a thanksgiving ceremony at her home in Kakuyuni attended by hundreds of supporters including religious leaders to thank God for making it possible to where she was despite the many hurdles that came across.

It is during the event that she brought forward her Deputy Governor Emmanuel Nzai the former CEO of Jumuiya ya Kaunti Za Pwani, all parliamentary candidates in the seven constituencies, and the 35 MCA candidates allied to the UDA party led by Deputy President William Ruto.

Among the candidates she unveiled was Daniel Chiriba the outgoing Jilore Ward MCA who will contest in the Malindi parliamentary race and former Ganze MP Peter Shehe who is vying for Jaribuni Ward Member of County Assembly seat.

Kilifi Deputy Speaker and Adu Ward MCA Stanley Kenga is also vying for Magarini parliamentary seat on a UDA ticket.

Also in Jumwa’s camp include Shukran Mwambonje the senatorial candidate and Juliet Riziki alias Kachachawa who is eying for the Woman rep position.

Ms Jumwa is facing stiff competition from Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) which is associated with Kingi together with ODM.

She said in her address that her administration is going to spearhead economic change to ensure every citizen of Kilifi affords a meal three times a day.

The Governor hopeful also said the government would address land issues and waive all building plans fees for churches, mosques, and other religious buildings.

“I humbly ask for your votes so that we have a united Kilifi inside the Kenya Kwanza coalition,” said the MP.

She said her administration is in line with the policies of Deputy President William Ruto who changed the conversation of the nation when unlike others who were fighting for positions leading to disagreements to date.

Ms Jumwa said she did not establish a panel to nominate her deputy governor because she knew he had the capability, experience, and knew Kilifi well to propel the transformation journey of Kilifi.

Some of the opponents she said have been forced to contest certain positions and threatened that’s why they are not happy.

“Those in Azimio should not be worried they have a place to join under the leadership of William Samoe Ruto inside Kenya Kwanza, Mudavadi, Wetangula, and all others the country will transform economically,” she said.

Further Jumwa said ODM Party leader and Azimio la Umoja flag bearer Raila Odinga who engineered the multi-party politics in Kenya is not the same Raila now as he is surrounded by a few individuals who are the ones giving him directions and calling the shots.

She said Raila is unable to make any decision and has become like a robot being used while the remote is held by another person.

Mr Nzai who is Jumwa’s deputy on his part called on religious leaders to pray for the team so as to win the elections in August

“We also came to show you the leaders who from now in the coming three months you will be able to see them and ask them questions and talk to them,” he said.

Chiriba the Malindi parliamentary candidate said he was a good student of Jumwa and was ready to take the mantle.
