Aisha Jumwa: We Want The Coalition Agreement UDA Signed With Kingi

As jitters continue to rock the United Democratic Alliance(UDA) and Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) in Kilifi county, UDA supporters want Deputy President William Ruto to come clear on the coalition agreement he signed with PAA.

They claimed that there has been a lot of misinformation and rumors going around being spread by PAA that is demoralizing them on the ground.

Speaking during a meeting with over 1,000 women attended by the Malindi MP and UDA gubernatorial aspirant Aisha Jumwa they said once the agreement is made public, they will be able to know how to move on smoothly with their campaigns.

Ms. Jumwa however assured the UDA supporters that all was well and urged them not to be swayed by the PAA party that was formed recently.

She maintained Kilifi was a UDA zone and UDA candidates are the ones who will carry the day on August 9, 2022.

The Vocal MP said Governor Amason Kingi was living in a rental room (Kenya Kwanza) and had no say as UDA was the mother party in the coalition.

“There is no day in Kenya a tenant can own a title deed of the place he rented, those are just kicks of a dying horse we are in UDA, Coast is UDA, Kilifi is UDA and the whole country is UDA,” she said.

She said there is no day a small fish can swallow a shark adding that the next governor of Kilifi would be her.

As per the IEBC, she said Ruto would be the presidential candidate in UDA and she would be the Kilifi County governor candidate.

Moses Matano the UDA County Coordinator said there has been rumous going around from the small party PAA which joined the Kenya Kwanza coalition recently.

He said PAA signed an agreement and since they were not there as supporters, they do not know what was signed despite the fact that they are PAA die herds.

“It’s sad that a small party like PAA that is not popular joined Kenya Kwanza and then begun spreading propaganda that Kilifi UDA supporters are not in the limelight,” he said.

Matano asked UDA should come clear on the issue as they do not want PAA to take the lead since they messed up for the last 10 years.

“Ruto should tell us as Kilifians and coast in general where our space is in the Coalition agreement, we do not want the party which is full of corrupt people and hooligans to be in control,” he said.

Janet Njoki a UDA supporter from Kilifi County said they are diehards of the party and support Jumwa as their preferred candidate for Kilifi governor.

He said UDA should come clear and explain the coalition agreement details so as to end the speculations that have been going around.

“We want you to come out and give us the details of the Coalition agreement so that we know if Kilifi is UDA or PAA, because we are left with only two months to elections,” she said adding that they do not want to be intimidated by7 PAA.

This week there has been a supremacy battle between UDA and PAA with Jumwa telling Kingi to concentrate on the mandate he was given to coordinate Kenya Kwanza Campaign on Coast.

Kingi has not responded yet but his supporters told off Jumwa telling her to respect Kingi their PAA party leader.
