Police in Nairobi have recovered an AK47 assault rifle and three pistols during a security operation in the Pangani area, leading to the arrest of four suspects.
The intelligence-led raid, conducted late Thursday night, targeted a residential property believed to be a hub for criminal activity. Three of the suspects arrested are Ugandan nationals, while the fourth is a Kenyan. Authorities believe the group may be linked to cross-border crime networks operating in the region.
Nairobi Regional Police Commander George Seda is expected to provide more details during a briefing at the Pangani Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) offices later today.

The recovered firearms are currently undergoing ballistic analysis to determine if they have been used in previous criminal incidents. Police sources indicate that the operation is part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal firearms and organized crime in Nairobi and surrounding counties.
The arrest of foreign nationals has raised concerns about regional security cooperation, with investigators now working closely with Ugandan authorities to trace the origins and intentions of the suspects.
Commander Seda is expected to outline further security measures aimed at curbing the proliferation of illegal weapons in urban areas during the upcoming press statement.
