Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai has challenged a section of Nyanza leaders he believes are opposed to President William Ruto to drop the pretense and entirely boycott the president’s event in the region.
In a statement on his X page on Friday, January 9, 2025, Alai stated that it was inconceivable for such politicians to bask in Ruto’s presence during his tour and meeting across the region.
He singled out the company led by Siaya Governor James Orengo and ODM vice chairperson and Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo.
Seme MP James Nyikal and Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang, whom he recently added to his list of onslaughts over his claims on the attempts to make boardroom deals to sell the ODM party, also earned a mention in his list of Ruto’s other political critics.
“There is no reason why they keep pretending to appear at events of the president in the region when they hate the president,” he stated.
“They must stay away and be handled as enemies of progress and development of our people.”

Alai doubled down on his criticism with a scathing attack on the delegation led by Edwin Sifuna that recently met with senior party members in Nairobi, describing it as inconsequential and selfish.
“They don’t value competition, and most won through direct tickets.
He added that their opposition to the president stemmed from individual political ends.
“You see why they are blackmailing the President? They want to be Raila in one day. They don’t know that Raila sacrificed to achieve the stature he left when he died. This group is so useless; I don’t think that anyone should be scared of their exit from the ODM,” he stated.
He concluded by imploring Ruto to keep a close eye on the ‘false allies.’
“The President must deal with dependable allies, not the selfish brokers who blow hot and cold.”
