A man has been charged at the Makadara Law Courts with multiple criminal offences, including committing an indecent act, assault causing actual bodily harm, threatening to kill and insulting the modesty of a woman.

Ronald Ngatia Wanjiru was arraigned before the court on January 29, 2026, where he pleaded not guilty to all four counts.

According to the charge sheet, the offences are alleged to have occurred on October 18, 2025 and on diverse dates between October and November 2025, at Mwiki Township in Kasarani Sub-County, Nairobi County.

In the first count, Ngatia is accused of committing an indecent act with an adult, contrary to Section 11 of the Sexual Offences Act No. 3 of 2006.

The prosecution alleges that he intentionally touched the breasts and vagina of Faith Jepkorir Kicho against her will.

In the second count, he is charged with insulting the modesty of a woman by forcible stripping, contrary to Section 251(a) of the Penal Code.

The charge states that he allegedly stripped the complainant naked and tied her hands with a rope against her will.

The third count accuses Ngatia of assault causing actual bodily harm, contrary to Section 251 of the Penal Code, with the prosecution alleging that he unlawfully assaulted the complainant on several occasions, causing her physical injuries.

In the fourth count, Ngatia is charged with threatening to kill, contrary to Section 223(1) of the Penal Code.

The charge states that he allegedly sent threatening text messages to the complainant, telling her

“Nitakumaliza na watanichika ukienda ICU.”

The complainant, Faith Jepkorir Kicho, is listed as the victim in all four counts.

During the court appearance, the accused applied for a reduction of cash bail.

However, Advocate Turunga Ithagi, who informed the court that he was watching brief for the complainant, opposed the request, stating that due to public outrage surrounding the matter, it would be best for the accused to remain in custody.

The court noted the submissions and directed that a pre-bail report be prepared.

The matter is scheduled for mention on March 5, 2026, when the court will consider the pre-bail report and issue further directions.

Until then, the accused remains in custody.
