Not even taking a wink after a lash out fr UDA Kilifi gubernatorial Aisha Jumwa supporters of Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi have fired back at Malindi Member of Parliament.

Ms Jumwa had claimed that in line with PAA joining Kenya Kwanza, the Pamoja African Alliance Party is not supposed to field candidates.

They told Jumwa to stop insulting Kingi as he joined Kenya Kwanza legitimately with his party because he was seen as a leader who is able to deliver votes in the Coast region.

Earlier this week Jumwa together with Kilifi North MP Owen Baya and other UDA candidates held a press conference in UDA Kilifi headquarters and told Kingi to concentrate on the mandate he was given to coordinate Kenya Kwanza Campaigns at the Coast and stop interfering with Kilifi politics as it was a UDA Zone.

She said in the agreement signed between Kenya Kwanza and PAA which she worked hard for the Governor’s party was not supposed to field candidates in Kilifi.

However, in a rejoinder to PAA women, supporters from Malindi told Jumwa to respect Kingi as he was not in her league.

Addressing a press conference at Market Village in Malindi Patience Kipusa said they respect Jumwa’s quest to vie for Governor of Kilifi as a woman but asked her to stop insulting their party leader.

Kipusa who is from Ganda ward said as women they were not happy with the way she was doing her campaigns and asked her to sell her policies and people will decide.

“Governor Kingi has not done wrong to go to Kenya Kwanza because it is a coalition of many parties, Kingi must be having a vision for the people that’s why he moved from Azimio to Kenya Kwanza,” she said.

She said they fully support their party leader but are campaigning for five PAA candidates and Deputy President William Ruto,” she said.

She said they do not fear her and will fight her to the end if she continues to insult Kingi who has done nothing wrong unlike her who has corruption cases in court.

“We do not want to hear you again talking bad about our governor,” she said.

Grace Kazungu a PAA supporter from Malindi town said they support Kingi because he joined the Kenya Kwanza coalition with his own party.

Previously she said they used to support other parties but ended up getting a raw deal such as that of ODM which ended up nominating MCAs from outside.

Kazungu said it is them as women who supported her to become a women’s Representative but failed to empower them up to now.

“Kingi is the lion he will roar because he is the lion of Kilifi County when you talk about him you touch our eyes we are touched when you insult him,” she said.

She said they will support PAA and do not want her to talk about Kingi negatively as the entire county will turn against her.

Harriet Kavumbi from Shella Ward who is also a PAA supporter said Jumwa should join Kingi if she can’t beat him as he was strong.

She said the governor is experienced having served as MP, Minister, and Governor for two terms, and is able to propel the flag of the Coast region.

Kavumbi said it’s Jumwa who is corrupt as she has a case in court but Kingi has no corruption case which makes him clean.

“We are members of PAA and we don’t feel bad to campaign for it that’s why we campaign for the party openly,” she said.
