A Tifa poll released on Thursday, June 14, shows that if elections were held today, Amos Nyaribo of the UPA would be elected governor of Nyamira.
According to the survey, Nyaribo would successfully defend his seat with 36% of the vote, while his closest rival Walter Nyambati would receive only 19% of the vote.
The poll also shows that Timothy Bosire of ODM would receive 11% of the vote, Ben Momanyi of Wiper would receive 9%, and Mwancha Okioma of Jubilee would receive 1%.
James Gesami, on the other hand, would get less than 1%.
Undecided voters made up 22% of the vote.
In the presidential race, Azimio’s flag bearer Raila Odinga’s popularity in the county has increased by 20%, while that of his closest rival William Ruto of UDA has decreased.
According to the poll, Raila now has 58% of the vote compared to Ruto’s 26%.
Undecided voters made up 17% of the vote.
In the senate race, Eric Okong’o Mogeni received 39% of the vote, followed by Kennedy Mong’areOkong’o with 13%, Nyambega Mose has 7% while Adams Mochenwa has 1%.
Undecided voters made up 32% of the electorate.
Jerusha Momanyi is the most popular Women Representative candidate, receiving 28% of the vote.
Emily Nyagarama came in a distant second with 21% of the vote. The remaining candidates received less than 5%.
Undecided voters accounted for 36% of the total.
The poll was conducted between July 5 and 7, 2022, with a margin of error of +/-3.0%.
A total of 626 people were interviewed over the phone.
The respondents were distributed across the constituencies in proportion to population size.
Borabu constituency had 20% of the respondents, followed by North Mugirango 20%, West Mugirango 27%, and Kitutu Masaba 33%.
In terms of gender, female respondents made up 46% of the total, while male respondents made up 54%.
According to the poll, Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance political alliance has the most support in Nyamira county, with 56% approval rating, followed by Kenya Kwanza with 23% support.
In terms of party support, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has 44%, followed by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) with 21%.
Jubilee has 2% support, while the United Progressive Alliance has 1%.
