CARLO ANCELOTTI’S ex-wife has died after a long illness.
The Everton boss, 61, was married to Luisa Gibellini for 25 years before they split in 2008.
Luisa was the mother of Ancelotti’s son Davide and daughter Katia, who worked as his assistant at Goodison Park.
Following the Toffees’ 5-0 loss at Manchester City on Sunday, the former Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich manager flew back to Italy as Luisa’s condition deteriorated.
Interested in sports Luisa, 63, died on Monday, according to Italian media.
Luisa Gibellini was not only famous for being the wife of the well-known and winning coach.
She was, in fact, one helicopter pilot. When Carlo coached Milan, she accompanied him every day to the sports center in Milanello with the aircraft, starting from Parma. Then he would take it back and they would go home together.
The two had met in 1983, when Ancelotti was still a soccer player and wore the shirt of Roma. They then got married and stayed together for 25 years, until 2008, when by mutual agreement they had decided to take different paths.
