André Leon Talley, a former editor of Vogue magazine, passed away at the age of 73.
In a tribute shared to Instagram on Jan. 18, designer Diane von Furstenberg confirmed his death.
“No one saw the world in a more elegant and glamorous way than you did … no one was more soulful and grander than you were,” She wrote.
In another Instagram post on Jan. 19, DVF shared some of their favorite photos. “A fashion giant has passed away. Rest in peace dear Andre Leon Talley”, she shared.
He died at a hospital in White Plains, New York, according to TMZ.
His death was due to an undisclosed cause.
Before storming the fashion industry in the 1970s and 1980s, the former editor-at-large earned his master’s degree from Brown University.
In Vogue, he’s quoted as saying, “I love people-it is not the fashion, it is the people in fashion I love.”
