A man has been arraigned after being arrested for assaulting his former girlfriend accusing her of moving on too fast after their breakup.
James Otunga Nyawande appeared before a Nairobi Court today to answer charges of assaulting his ex-girlfriend contrary to the law.
He was charged that on the morning of May 17,2023 along Kimathi Street in Nairobi assaulted his girlfriend Pauline after he accused her of infidelity.
At the material time, Pauline who operates a barber shop along Kimathi Street was in her shop.
The ex-boyfriend who is a chef in a Nairobi Hotel entered the barber shop and pulled an argument claiming the girlfriend moved on at a supersonic speed after their breakup, a move which denied him a second chance in their love affair.
He was accusing her of having an affair with other men. He then hit the lady with his fist hence sustaining injuries on her head.
The accused pleaded guilty to the charges but changed his guilty plea after telling the court that also the allegations are true, part of the facts in the case were framed in an attempt to see her ex-lover succeed in locking him behind bars.
He was released on a cash bail of Ksh 10,000.
