A suspect was last night shot dead in a botched robbery in Mathare slums.
Police recovered crude weapons which they believed were used to terrorize residents.
This is the second time in two days that police have opened fire to stop a robbery in the area.
He is said to have been in the company of three others and were attacking and robbing residents when police were alerted.

Another one had been shot and killed after a gang raided a gated estate and started to rob residents.
Police say they have enhanced patrols to contain the threat which they attribute to the removal of the dusk to dawn curfew.
