Apple Increases Apple Music Student Price Around The World

For the first time, Apple has raised the price of its Apple Music Student Plan in key markets such as the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, potentially giving consumers a reason to switch to a competing streaming platform.

In an unusual move, Apple has raised the price of its Apple Music subscription service for students, in direct opposition to Spotify’s pricing.

For the first time, Apple has raised the price of its Apple Music Student Plan in key markets such as the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, potentially giving consumers a reason to switch to a competing streaming platform.

The standard Apple Music Student Plan has increased from $4.99 to $5.99 in the United States and Canada, and from £4.99 to £5.99 in the United Kingdom. It’s still less than the $9.99 and £9.99 per month charged on the standard plan, but it’s an increase at a time when consumers are tightening their belts.

Apple raised the price of the student plan in a number of countries, including India, New Zealand, and Australia, last month, notifying customers in advance of the increase. It appears that Apple does not intend to do the same in the United Kingdom, the United States, or Canada, which is an intriguing move that may frustrate users.
