Archbishop Anyolo Mourns the Passing of Rev. Fr. Vincent Kamiri

The Archdiocese of Nairobi is mourning the death of one of its longest-serving clergy, Rev. Fr. Vincent Kamiri, who passed away while serving at Gicharani Parish.

The sad news was formally announced by His Grace, Archbishop Philip Anyolo, in a heartfelt statement expressing both sorrow and steadfast faith in God.

Fr. Kamiri, a son of Lioki Parish, was ordained a diocesan priest on 7th January 1979. Over the past 45 years, he devoted his life to the service of the Church and the spiritual guidance of the faithful across various parishes in the Archdiocese of Nairobi. His commitment, humility, and pastoral care touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering dedication to the Gospel and the people of God.

Archbishop Anyolo described Fr. Kamiri as “a faithful shepherd who served with love and deep devotion,” urging the faithful to keep him in prayer and to draw strength from the promise of eternal life.

“As we mourn his passing,” the Archbishop said, “we give thanks for his life and ministry. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.”

Funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course by the Archdiocese.

The Church invites all parishioners and friends of Fr. Kamiri to join in prayer as they celebrate the life of a devoted servant of Christ.
