Muheria: Why Have We Forsaken The Starving?

Muheria said Kenyans appear to have forgotten about the plight of the residents in Marsabit as it was 'no longer,' news for livestock to die over lack of pasture.

Nyeri Archbishop Anthony Muheria has said the Church is concerned about biting drought and famine in Marsabit, Samburu and other parts of Kenya.

Muheria said Kenyans appear to have forgotten about the plight of the residents in Marsabit as it was ‘no longer,’ news for livestock to die over lack of pasture.

He said the Government and the people of Kenya must help the vulnerable communities from the vagaries of drought.

Muheria said one cannot prophesy Christianity if he can’t aid those dying of starvation.

“Which faith glorifies empty rhetoric in situations of dire need like hunger,”? Muheria said.

He said Catholic Bishops have put in place credible distribution channels for food and cash donations and urged Kenyans to support the initiative.

“Your donation will reach the most vulnerable. Kindly donate generously”, he said.
