Archbishop Muheria: Shun Hate-Politics, Tribalism And Theft

Catholic Archbishop Anthony Muheria has called on political leaders to preach peace and shun utterances that may plunge the country into violence and chaos.

Citing an invasion on former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Northlands farm in Ruiru, Muheria lamented that the nation has devolved into a country of thieves, tribalists and hate-mongering, and thugs who are uncaring for the vulnerable.

“We have become a country of jealousy, we have stayed in envy, hatred and tribalism, we always want a man of my tribe to appear better than others. For the sake of the tribe, I give jobs to my tribesmen. We Kenyans are sitting in the darkness,” he lamented.

In his Easter Message, Muheria wondered who will take the nation out of this hatred that has been woven by politicians.

“Do I have to insult someone, or hate someone? Why are we crucifying Christ again? May his death and resurrection open our eyes today,” he added.

According to Muheria, no leader can overpower or overthrow the Kingdom of the almighty God.

“Today, we declare that God’s power exceeds all satanic and evil forces. No evil will be able to overwhelm the kingdom of the almighty God. And today is a day to remind leaders that you may have plans to organise evil, but you will never be able to bring God’s kingdom out of the souls of men.”

Muheria reminded leaders that they have a national responsibility to protect the nation and further called on Kenyans to avoid leaders who promote hatred and tribalism.
