Argentina signs critical minerals deal with US, foreign ministry says

Argentina and the United States signed an agreement on critical minerals on Wednesday to strengthen and secure supply chains, the Argentine foreign ministry said.

The ministry said in a statement that the initiative is expected to drive significant economic growth for Argentina. The country’s mining exports reached $6.04 billion in 2025, the ministry said

The agreement comes as countries seek to diversify and de-risk supply chains for minerals essential to technologies such as batteries, electric vehicles, power grids, and electronics. For Argentina, it also strengthens its positioning as a supplier in a rapidly expanding global market for critical mineral inputs.
