One armed robber has died after a ferocious shootout between detectives from DCI-Makadara and three armed gangsters.
DCI on their social media announced the news, saying the band of robbers were on a mission to cause havoc before the police caught up with them.
“Sounds of deafening gunfire reverberated in the air, rat-a-tat-tat-tat!!! as the undercover sleuths silenced the armed thugs in retaliation, after they defied orders to surrender and turned against our men,” said DCI.
Moments before the gun battle, DCI sleuths chased down the armed thugs, several reports were made about the marauding gang that was attacking pedestrians along Mariakani road.
“The shootout was followed by the whoosh of a speeding ‘Subaru ya Mambaru’ flying past the estate, as the detectives went after the remaining two suspects who slipped into to the dimly lit alleys of Marigu~ini slums, their bodies riddled with bullet holes.”
The fallen thug’s lifeless body was found sprawled in a storm drain ditch with his tools of the trade nearby, including a homemade gun that was loaded with two live 9mm rounds and a communication device that looked like a police walkie-talkie.
Detectives from the Forensic Crime Location Investigations team photographed the scene of the crime as the body was taken to a morgue in the city for an upcoming autopsy.
Detectives are stepping up patrols while a manhunt is being conducted for the remaining conspirators to ensure that city dwellers may celebrate the holiday season in peace.
