The body of prominent Pakistan journalist Arshad Sharif, who was killed in Kenya on Sunday, October 23, has been flown to Islamabad for burial, his wife Javeria Siddique has confirmed.
Siddique took to social media on Tuesday to share images of Sharif’s body being loaded into a van with the words “Here lies the remains of the late Muhammed Arshad” pinned to it.
She subsequently Tweeted; “My husband @arsched coming back home in a coffin. Authorities in Kenya are answerable to us.”Â

The Qatar Airways plane carrying the casket took off from Nairobi around 1 a.m. and landed in Doha around 6 a.m. on Tuesday, ahead of the planned connection to Islamabad.
It is expected to arrive in Pakistan on Wednesday morning, according to officials.
A few Pakistani nationals, led by High Commissioner to Kenya Syeda Saqlain, were at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to see off the body.
A postmortem examination revealed Sharif had a head bullet injury and died from bleeding.
Sharif was shot at a roadblock on the Nairobi-Magadi highway in the Magadi area after his driver broke through the barrier.
