Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta urged caution as his side capitalized on Manchester City’s draw against Newcastle United with a thrilling 4-2 victory over Leicester City on Saturday.
The draw at St James’ Park saw City drop points without key players Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne.
Arsenal initially appeared to be cruising to a comfortable win after establishing a 2-0 lead but needed two stoppage-time goals to secure the victory, bringing them level on points with City and just one point behind Liverpool in the Premier League standings.
Arteta emphasized the importance of staying grounded, stating, “It’s the sixth game of the Premier League. We’re in September. We want to win every game and we’ll do our best to do that.”
He cautioned against reading too much into the title race at this stage, noting, “In order to do that, you have to continue to win, win, win.”
Next, Arsenal will host Southampton in the Premier League before welcoming Paris Saint-Germain to the Emirates Stadium for their second Champions League match of the season.
