Astronomers Pinpoint Date of 2025’s Final Solar Eclipse and where It’s Visible

By Michelle Ndaga

A partial solar eclipse the last of its kind for 2025 is set to occur on 21 September 2025, according to NASA and TimeandDate.com, with visibility in parts of Australia, Antarctica, the Pacific Ocean, and the Atlantic Ocean.

The eclipse will present a “crescent sunrise” effect in these regions, where observers will see the Sun partially obscured as it rises.

Although not visible in most of Asia or Africa including Kenya this eclipse has drawn global interest from the scientific community and eclipse watchers alike.

Experts are urging anyone in the path of visibility to use certified solar protection gear such as ISO-certified eclipse glasses or proper solar filters for telescopes/binoculars, stressing that looking at the Sun without protection can cause serious eye damage.
