Westland illegal demolition takes a new twist after the suspected culprits face robbery with violence charges.
Zachariah Wakhungu Baraza and Nathaniel Kipkemboi Baraza were arraigned in court today under consolidation of charges of robbery with violence.
According to the prosecution, two on November 4, 2022, at the Westlands-School Lane area in Nairobi, robbed Niraj Batuk Shah and his wife of their electronic appliances, jewellery, assorted household goods and other items all valued at Ksh 18 million.
It is alleged that at the time of the robbery the two threatened to use violence on the said Shah family.
They were also charged with malicious damage to property where the two on the said date damaged property amounting to Ksh 60 million.
They have since denied the charges and are out on a cash bail of Ksh 2 million.
