Autopsy: GSU Officer Killed While Guarding State House Died From Excessive Bleeding

An autopsy has revealed the cause of death of the General Service Unit (GSU) officer who was fatally attacked while on duty at State House, Nairobi.

In an update on Tuesday, October 14, Vocal Africa CEO Hussein Khalid said the post-mortem report showed that Officer Ramadhan Mattanka succumbed to internal injuries caused by a single arrow that penetrated vital organs.

“The autopsy report for Officer Ramadhan Mattanka is out. He was shot by an arrow which went through the left 7th and 8th rib then went through the left lung and it also punctured the heart. He died due to excessive bleeding resulting from the injury,” he said.

Khalid further urged the government to take swift action to protect law enforcement officers as they carry out their duties.

“As we call for justice for Ramadhan, we urge the state to ensure police are safe while on duty,” he added.

The officer will be laid to rest today in Kajiado County.
