Avance Media Announces 2022 100 Most Influential African Women

Leading African PR & Rating firm, Avance Media has announced the 4th & 2022 edition of its annual publication of 100 Most Influential African Women to celebrate African women in leadership inspiring the next generation.

The list made up of prominent women represents African women breaking the bias across the world and includes 2 Presidents, 5 Vice Presidents, 5 Prime Ministers, Ministers, Regional CEOs and Founders of both for-profit and not-for-profit organisations.

Nigerian female artists have notably dominated the continental list of 100 most influential African women. 

Avance Media has ranked Nigerian singers Tiwa Savage, Ayra Starr, Tems and Osinach in its list of most influential African women, 2022. 

The entertainment category also features Nigerian actresses Funke Akindele and Osas Ighodaro. 

Other than Nigerians, Ugandan Comedian Anne Kansiime was also in the list that includes women from 36 African countries. 

The awards had 7 other categories where women who have climbed the corporate ladder, started their own business, or have been at the forefront of local and international decision making have been recognised. 

Kenyan women named in the list include Citizen Tv’s Managing Editor (Swahili) Jamila Mohamed, listed under the most influential media personality. 

Governor Anne Waiguru, Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua , and Chief Justice Martha Koome were recognised under the governance category.

The list also comprised of prominent women leaders across the continent including 2 presidents, 5 Vice Presidents, 5 Prime Ministers, and ministers from different African countries.
