KANU chairman Gideon Moi on Tuesday stated that One Kenya Alliance (OKA) will soon join the Azimio la Umoja movement for a likely coalition agreement to nominate one candidate to face off with the Kenya Kwanza team.
Speaking at the party’s headquarters in Nairobi, Gideon said that OKA principals have begun negotiations with Azimio as they try to find the best candidate to represent them in the upcoming elections.
“Negotiations between us are ongoing. Azimio already have their presidential candidate, we will also choose our presidential candidate who will present us in the August elections,” Gideon said.
Gideon said this after the OKA principals stated in a rally in Kakamega that the time was ripe for them to join hands with Raila.
Coalitions must be formed four months before the general election, according to the Political Parties Amendments Act of 2021, and coalition agreements must be filed with the registrar of political parties.
