Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has denied orchestrating the violence at Jacaranda Grounds on Sunday during a Kenya Kwanza rally.
Owino now claims that the Kenya Kwanza Alliance staged the chaos that resulted in five injuries.
“Look at these photos keenly. The guys in the same uniform stoned Ruto’s car and at the same time provided security at the same rally. Wacha kutubeba mafala(stop carrying us for fools) after stage managing your own attack,” Owino said.
Ahead of the Kenya Kwanza rally, the Jacaranda ground was transformed into an amphitheatre of chaos between youth allied to the Azimio-One Kenya coalition and the brigade of Deputy President William Ruto.
Owino shared photos on Twitter that he claims show he was not involved in organizing the violence that injured Embakasi East UDA candidate Francis Mureithi.
His remarks come just hours after several leaders condemned the use of violence to gain power.
Instead, Babu Owino said he had asked his supporters to stay at home in order to avoid the chaos that would be blamed on them.
