The arrest of one of the Narcotics and Wildlife Trafficking suspects who had a $1 million bounty on his head was revealed by the US Embassy.
Badru Abdul Aziz Saleh was detained after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) got a tip-off from the public, according to Chargé d’Affaires Eric Kneedler. He is currently in a police prison in Nairobi.
The information that led to his detention, according to Kneedler, came in response to a reward announcement made last Thursday for information leading to the arrest, prosecution, and conviction of Saleh and Abdi Hussein Ahmed.
For their safety, he stated that the source of the information would stay anonymous.
He mentioned that the US Department of State’s Transnational Organized Crime Rewards Program pays out rewards to seek people who are convicted.
For information leading to the capture and conviction of the two Kenyan fugitives, the US has offered a reward of up to $1 million each.
