Barcelona confirm key winger out of Albacete clash due to overload; one week recovery

''Raphinha is experiencing an overload in the adductor of his right leg. He will be sidelined as a precaution for the match against Albacete, and the recovery period will be one week,” the club statement read.

FC Barcelona have issued an official statement confirming that Raphinha is dealing with a muscle overload, ruling him out of tomorrow’s game against Albacete.

Barça describe the absence as a precaution and estimate a recovery time of one week for the key superstar.

“Raphinha is experiencing an overload in the adductor of his right leg. He will be sidelined as a precaution for the match against Albacete, and the recovery period will be one week,” the club statement read.

Raphinha started in the weekend La Liga encounter against Elche, but was taken off at half-time, replaced with Marcus Rashford as he was dealing with discomfort.

Initial reports suggested that there was no injury, which Barcelona confirm, but the Brazilian international is dealing with overload and the club do not wish to take any risks with the key player.

As such, he will not be involved against Albacete in the Copa del Rey tomorrow. With a week’s recovery period being specified, it remains to be seen if Raphinha is ready in time to face RCD Mallorca in La Liga on Saturday.
