Barcelona Scout Raphinha To Replace Dembele

Barcelona is interested in signing Leeds United forward Raphinha to replace Ousmane Dembele this summer, according to Diario Sport reports.

Xavi Hernandez, Barca’s coach, has endorsed the idea, and the Catalan club has already held conversations with Leeds about trade, according to the source.

Raphinha, 25, is represented by Deco, a former Portugal international who currently works as a scout for Barca in South America.

Raphinha has 15 goals in 59 appearances for Leeds since joining the Premier League club for €20 million from Rennes in 2020.

Since departing Brazil in 2016, the Brazil international has also played for Vitoria Guimaraes and Sporting Club in Portugal.

Given the likelihood that Dembele will depart for free when his contract expires, Barcelona are in the market for a winger this summer.

The Frenchman had previously turned down all of the club’s chances to extend his contract, but he has been in excellent form this season, with nine assists in 12 games since his return to the team.
