Bayern Munich Back on Top with Brutal 0-5 Win Over Bochum

Bayern Munich surged back to the summit of the Bundesliga with a commanding 5-0 victory against struggling Bochum, who remain rooted to the bottom of the table.

It took just 15 minutes for the Bavarians to find the net, courtesy of Michael Olise’s stunning free-kick from 20 yards out.

The young winger’s effort flew over the wall, marking his fifth goal in his first five Bundesliga away appearances—a feat only matched by Harry Kane, who continues to set the standard since joining the club.

Bayern’s attacking prowess was on full display as Jamal Musiala doubled their lead shortly before the half-time break.

The Germany international expertly guided a header past Bochum’s goalkeeper Patrick Drewes, converting Joshua Kimmich’s exquisitely dinked free-kick to throw the hosts’ defence into disarray.

After the interval, Kane showcased his lethal finishing ability, slotting home his ninth league goal of the season from a Musiala assist, sending the ball crashing into the roof of the net.

Leroy Sane then added to Bochum’s woes with a brilliant strike from the edge of the area, curling the ball beyond Drewes and further solidifying Bayern’s dominance. Although Kingsley Coman saw a goal ruled out for offside, he quickly redeemed himself with a stunning curled shot that struck the bar before rebounding in.

Despite the scoreline, Bochum’s Drewes did well to deny further damage with noteworthy saves against late efforts from substitutes Thomas Muller and Mathys Tel.

Bochum struggled to create meaningful chances in reply, managing a deflected effort from Moritz Broschinski and a header wide from Erhan Masovic, but they were ultimately outclassed by a Bayern side that showed their Championship credentials.

In the wake of their crushing defeat, Bochum parted ways with head coach Peter Zeidler, who was appointed in June, and sporting director Marc Lettau following a disappointing run that has seen them collect just one point from eight matches.
