BBI, Hustler-nation camps scale down rallies amid Uhuru Ban

A host of politicians have embarked on a series of so-called BBI citizen engagement forums that have proved to circumvent the instituted ban on political rallies by President Uhuru Kenyatta. – By Gerald Gekara

While appearing at the funeral of constitutional lawyer Dr. Nzamba Kitonga in Kitui, Raila urged citizens to read the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.

He denounced Deputy President William Ruto’s Hustler campaigns terming them as calls to impoverish Kenyans.

Raila said the BBI will help bring the country together after the divisive election. Kalonzo said BBI will move resources to the grass root with the introduction of Ward Development Fund even as he called for an inclusive debate.

Elsewhere, DP Ruto continued his campaign to have the BBI include the ‘Hustler’s agenda’ and have a document that depicts unity among Kenyans.

“ If truly we believe in building bridges, we should never leave any bridge broken and we must never break one bridge as we build the other” Ruto said

Ruto was speaking at a Dowry payment ceremony for Nakuru senator Susan Kihika which was attended by politicians and allies of the Deputy President.
