Besiktas Sign Tammy Abraham on Loan from AS Roma with Option to Buy

Turkish football powerhouse Besiktas confirmed on Friday the signing of English striker Tammy Abraham on a season-long loan from AS Roma, with an option to make the move permanent.

The 27-year-old forward, who arrived in Istanbul earlier this week and successfully completed a medical, will play the 2025–2026 season at Vodafone Park. Besiktas announced it will pay €2 million to Roma for the loan, with a €13 million option to buy starting from the 2026–2027 season. The potential transfer fee would be paid in instalments through 2030, according to the club’s official statement.

Abraham, whose full name is Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham, joined Roma in 2021 from Chelsea in a €41 million move. He made an immediate impact in Serie A, playing a key role in Roma’s victorious UEFA Europa Conference League campaign in 2022.

Most recently, Abraham spent the 2024–2025 season on loan at Roma’s city rivals AC Milan, where he netted 10 goals across all competitions.

Besiktas had disclosed earlier in the week that talks were underway with both Roma and Abraham, who is entering the final year of his contract with the Italian club.

The former England international is expected to bolster Besiktas’ attacking options as the club looks to reclaim domestic dominance and improve its performance in European competitions.
