Beyoncé and Adidas have called it quits. According to a person close to the matter, the Grammy-winning entrepreneur and the German lifestyle brand have mutually agreed to split ways.
Beyoncé collaborated creatively with Adidas in 2018, relaunching her Ivy Park athletic line and developing new footwear and products for the company.
But, there appear to have been significant creative differences between Ivy Park and Adidas, and Beyoncé is eager to regain her brand, make her own course, and maintain creative freedom.
Beyoncé debuted Ivy Park, a collaboration with Sir Philip Green of Topshop, in 2016. In 2018, Beyoncé acquired full control of Ivy Park after a 50-50 partnership with Topshop expired.
Beyoncé debuted Park Trail, her latest Adidas x Ivy Park collaboration, in Dubai in January, a day before performing a private concert in the city. It was her first live performance in four years.
She will kick off her Renaissance World Tour in Stockholm in May, and the journey will take her through Europe, stopping in Cardiff, Edinburgh, Sunderland, Paris, London, Marseille, Amsterdam, Warsaw, and other cities. Beyoncé will next perform in Toronto, Vancouver, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Boston, Charlotte, Detroit, Miami, Minneapolis, Nashville, and Philadelphia before returning to North America.
