Biden Wears Trump Hat in Show of Unity at 9/11 Memorial Event

President Joe Biden briefly wore a red Trump campaign hat during a 9/11 commemoration event in Pennsylvania.

The president was visiting firefighters near Shanksville, where Flight 93 crashed during the 2001 attacks, and the White House said the gesture was meant to highlight unity.

A video captured Biden chatting with a Trump supporter, exchanging hats in a lighthearted moment.

Trump’s campaign quickly responded on social media, humorously thanking Biden for his “support” and joking about the previous night’s debate performance by Vice President Kamala Harris.

Biden greeted firefighters, paid respects at a memorial made from the plane’s wreckage, and interacted with people inside a fire station.

At one point, he signed a presidential hat for a man wearing a “Trump 2024” cap, sparking cheers when he put on the Trump hat for a brief moment.

The White House later clarified that the gesture was part of the president’s focus on national unity during the anniversary event.

The daughter of the man who swapped hats with Biden told the BBC that her father enjoys joking around and that the Trump campaign sent him a new cap after the interaction.
