Bitter Roots: Justina, Wajackoyah War Intensifies

Wamae was summoned by her party on August 22, 2022, for a congratulatory message she sent to President-elect William Samoei Ruto.

Justina Wamae, the deputy presidential candidate of the Roots Party, is embroiled in a verbal spat with Professor George Wajackoyah.

Wamae was summoned by her party on August 22, 2022, for a congratulatory message she sent to President-elect William Samoei Ruto.

Wamae is also facing disciplinary action for allegedly misrepresenting her party during the recently concluded General Elections, according to the summon.

She has been accused of making contradictory and malicious statements about her party, and she will have to defend herself before the disciplinary committee.

Washika Wachira, the legal director of the Roots Party, cited a number of incidents that landed Wamae in hot water, including claiming Wajackoyah had endorsed Raila and sending congratulatory messages to Ruto.

“Saying that votes were stolen is simply preposterous when I see some parties like Roots Party, who as a member I can confidently say we were disorganized in regards to agents mobilizations.”

“It is in our knowledge that you have continuously disassociated yourself with the party and its ideologies. You have associated yourself without opponents and advocated for their ideologies,” Wachira said in the summon letter.

Wamae, on the other hand, fired back at the Roots Party and Professor Wajackoyah, calling the allegations leveled against her “pure pettiness.”

She also stated unequivocally that she would not respond to the allegations made by Roots Party legal director Washika Wachira.

“I will not respond to pettiness But on the Non Existent accommodation and car you imagines you ‘assisted’ me with you can withdraw in your dreams. It is your party do what you deem fit, I will soldier on,” she said.
