Celebrated African music and lifestyle festival, Blankets & Wine, is set to host its first-ever international edition in Bradford City, United Kingdom, as part of its 16th anniversary celebrations.
The milestone event will take place on September 6th, 2025, at Lister Park, in partnership with the British Council under the UK/Kenya Season 2025 initiative. Since its inception in 2008, Blankets & Wine has grown into a cultural staple, renowned for its vibrant showcase of African music, curated experiences, and community engagement.
“This is a dream come true,” said Muthoni Ndong’a, popularly known as Muthoni Thee Drummer Queen, founder of the festival. “Taking Blankets & Wine to the UK is the next step in exporting our music and culture. It’s a testament to the power of Blankets in transcending borders and connecting people from all walks of life.”
The Bradford edition will maintain the signature Blankets & Wine experience, featuring two music stages, curated food and fashion markets, art installations, and branded experiences. The event promises a handpicked lineup of African artists, with official announcements expected by the end of June 2025.
With a 16-year legacy of celebrating African talent and creativity, the festival’s expansion into the UK marks a significant step in elevating African culture on the global stage.
