Frank Obegi, a popular blogger and influencer, was among four mutilated bodies discovered in Kijabe Forest on Monday, June 20.
According to reports, the four were allegedly involved in a cryptocurrency scam that resulted in their lives being taken in such a brutal murder.
They were reported missing a week ago in the Kasarani area before their bodies were discovered in the Kijabe forest.
According to Lari OCPD Anderson Furaha, their bodies were badly mutilated in what appears to be a revenge mission.
Mr Furaha stated that the four were strangled before having their body parts chopped off. All four bodies had deep neck cuts and chopped private parts.
“One of them had been partly eaten by wild animals. Their private parts had been amputated and it seems they died through strangulation. They had no identification documents and were naked,” Mr Furaha told Nation.
On Monday evening, Twitter users identified the four as Mr Obegi, his friend Mike, Eli, and an unidentified victim.
The bodies are currently being preserved at Nairobi’s City Mortuary.
