Former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Faith Odhiambo has joined the Linda Mwananchi political movement, marking a significant addition to the opposition-leaning outfit associated with Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino.
Her entry into the movement was announced on June 9, 2026, by Senator Sifuna, who publicly welcomed the prominent lawyer and constitutional advocate to the group.
“Full parade to welcome Madam President. Welcome to Linda Mwananchi, Faith Odhiambo,” Sifuna posted on X.
The development comes ahead of the movement’s planned mega-rally in Thika, where Odhiambo is expected to make one of her first appearances alongside the faction’s key leaders.
Linda Mwananchi has emerged as a vocal political platform advocating for good governance, accountability and citizen-centred policies. The movement has also positioned itself against increased taxation and has been critical of the government’s broad-based political arrangement.

Odhiambo’s decision to align herself with the movement brings a high-profile legal and civil society figure into its ranks. During her tenure as the 51st President of the LSK between 2024 and 2026, she gained national prominence for her outspoken defence of constitutionalism, human rights and the rule of law.
Even after leaving office, Odhiambo has remained active in public affairs. She has continued to speak on constitutional issues, governance matters and state accountability, while also advocating for justice in cases involving gender-based violence and other human rights concerns.
On the same day her political alignment became public, Odhiambo weighed in on the High Court ruling that upheld former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s impeachment while awarding him constitutional damages, warning that the decision could set a troubling legal precedent.
She has also recently pushed for greater transparency regarding a proposed Ebola preparedness facility in Laikipia County, arguing that adequate public participation should be a prerequisite for such projects.
Her move into the Sifuna-led camp is expected to strengthen the movement’s appeal among professionals, young people and civil society actors, as opposition groups continue positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Odhiambo’s growing political visibility follows a widely praised tenure at the LSK, where she earned recognition for defending protesters during the anti-finance bill demonstrations and championing constitutional rights, efforts that saw her receive the 2025 Commonwealth Law Conference Rule of Law Award.
