A boda boda rider has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a foreign national, rapping her, and abandoning her in Ololulua forest Ngong, Kajiado County.
Protas Onsongo, the suspect, was apprehended on Saturday afternoon as he attempted to flee the city to avoid arrest.
The victim was leaving a nightclub along Langata Road with two other people in the early hours of Saturday morning when they hailed three motorbikes to take them to a hotel in the CBD where they had reserved rooms, according to a report by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Onsongo, who was the last to leave the parking lot, took a detour in the opposite direction, towards the Bomas of Kenya, raising suspicion, according to the DCI.
“When the victim noticed a lot of vegetation typical of the Ongata Rongai route, she realized something was wrong. She tried to raise the alarm, but it was in vain as the bike sped dangerously towards the Oloolua forest.” DCI report read.
Sleuths tracked down Onsongo and arrested him in response to a case reported to the Ongata Rongai police station. Until his arraignment, he will be held in police custody.
Meanwhile, the victim was taken to a medical facility in Rongai, where she was subjected to a battery of tests.
