Boda Boda Rider Killed by Police Vehicle in Baringo Accident

Residents of Kasoiyo junction in Baringo County are now calling for justice after a speeding police vehicle hit a boda boda rider, killing him on the spot.

According to reports, the accident occurred along the Kabarnet-Marigat road in the early morning hours of Friday, after the vehicle’s driver lost control, hitting the rider.

The area Baringo police commander Julius Kiragu confirmed the incident, stating that investigations into the incident have kicked off.

“Nothing can bring back that young man. We condole with and offer our condolences to his family. He was a young man with a young family that depended on him,” the police commander Julius Kiragu stated.

“I want to promise that investigations will be done the right way and provide answers,” Kiragu added.

The tragic incident has sparked outrage among residents who are demanding swift action against those responsible.

“The government needs to take this seriously and speed up the investigations. The person responsible needs to answer to this,” one resident noted.

Another resident expressed frustration over what they described as a recurring problem with government vehicles.

“This is not the first instance. These government vehicles, marked with ‘GK’ number plates, are often driven recklessly. It needs to stop,” the resident stated.

The deceased rider, whose identity has not yet been officially released, reportedly left behind a young family that depended on him for a livelihood.
