A boda boda rider has been arrested after murdering a Form 3 student from Thaara Secondary School in Maragua Constituency, Murang’a County.
The suspect, who operates in the Karaha area, is accused of luring the girl with a Christmas present and inviting her to his house before murdering her.
The rider allegedly promised to buy her clothes for the festivities if she paid him a visit at his home.
Investigations into the incident continue, as police establish the circumstances that led to her death.
The girl’s body was taken to the Murang’a Hospital mortuary.
In the meantime, the suspect has been apprehended and is being held at the Murang’a Police Station pending court arraignment.
