Body Suspected To Be Of Missing Taxi Driver Discovered In Kiambu

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has confirmed the discovery of a body believed to belong to Victoria Mumbua Muloki, a missing taxi driver.

The remains were located at the Nairobi City Mortuary following an in-depth interrogation of Edwin Ng’etich, a suspect currently in custody for possessing Muloki’s stolen vehicle.

The body was discovered in a thicket near a road in Lari, Kiambu County, after Ng’etich, who was apprehended in Nakuru while driving the victim’s car, led detectives to the site where he allegedly dumped the remains.

Initial investigations have confirmed that the body was brought to the mortuary on September 29, 2024, where it was initially registered as unidentified.

Police investigations are ongoing, with the Criminal Intelligence and Research Bureau playing a key role in piecing together the case.

Ng’etich’s previous criminal record indicates a history of similar offenses, raising concerns over his potential involvement in other disappearances.

Muloki’s family, residing in Mombasa, has been notified of the grim discovery. They are expected to travel to Nairobi to assist in the identification process, which will include DNA profiling as authorities prepare for a postmortem examination to ascertain the cause of death.
