Bride-to-be killed in motorcycle accident

A woman who was soon to be married lost her life in a tragic motorcycle accident in Sta. Ana, Manila. According to a report by Jhomer Apresto on 24 Oras Weekend, the incident occurred on Sunday.

CCTV footage captured the accident on Pedro Gil Street in Barangay 876. The victim was riding with her fiancé when another motorcycle, turning left from the opposite lane, struck them.

A witness recalled, “I heard a loud crash. When I looked, I saw two motorcycles had collided. The bride-to-be was at the end.” The impact threw the woman off the motorcycle, and she rolled several meters on the road.

She was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival, according to Manila Police District spokesperson Police Major Philipp Ines. The driver of the other motorcycle sustained injuries and was taken to the Orthopedic Hospital for treatment.

The bride-to-be had planned to marry in September.

The suspect, now in the custody of the Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit, explained, “I was buying parts for my motorcycle. When I was about to turn, I noticed my motorcycle was moving too fast. I am asking for forgiveness; I did not want this to happen.”

The suspect faces charges of reckless driving resulting in homicide. Local officials noted that the area is prone to accidents due to its many intersections.
