Bruno Fernandes Rejects Mega Saudi Offer, Commits to Manchester United

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has turned down a lucrative move to Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal, reaffirming his commitment to the Premier League club.

The 30-year-old Portuguese international had been weighing the offer for several days.

Sources close to the player say the Saudi deal would have more than doubled his current wages, already among the highest at Old Trafford.

After consultations with his family, Fernandes made the call over the weekend and officially informed Al-Hilal of his decision to stay put.

His stance brings relief to Manchester United management, with insiders revealing that the club is “delighted” by the outcome.

United Never Received a Formal Bid

While Al-Hilal were reportedly prepared to offer £80 million to £100 million to secure Fernandes ahead of this month’s Club World Cup, no formal approach was made to United.

Nevertheless, the potential exit caused ripples across the football world. Even Portugal head coach Ruben Amorim weighed in on the speculation last Friday, saying he expected Fernandes to continue at United.

Focus Now on Nations League

Fernandes is currently in Germany preparing for Portugal’s UEFA Nations League semi-final on Wednesday, where he is expected to address the transfer saga in a pre-match press conference.

Since arriving from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020 for £47 million, Fernandes has been instrumental at Old Trafford—racking up 290 appearances and 98 goals across all competitions.

He remains a pivotal figure in United’s rebuilding efforts under Erik ten Hag.

For now, United fans can breathe easy—Bruno is staying red.
